How Anxiety Might Show Up
Anxiety can show up in so many different ways...
You may notice it in your body. You may notice new or unfamiliar thoughts and emotions. You may find yourself behaving differently or avoiding things that once felt manageable. There may even be changes happening outside of your conscious awareness.
And how you experience it can change over time.
Most people don’t start looking for counselling the first time they feel anxious.
Usually, they’ve already been trying to manage things on their own for quite a while — pushing through, changing routines, searching for answers, or hoping that time might make a difference.
That means you’ve already been working hard to feel better.
Sometimes those efforts help. Sometimes they help for a while. And sometimes, despite everything you’ve tried, you’re still left feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure what else to try.
Counselling can offer a different kind of support.
Anxiety can feel like a whole lot of noise. We can work together, at a pace that feels manageable, to quiet that noise, make sense of what’s happening, and give you practical tools to help you feel less anxious and more grounded.
For some people, getting back to feeling better is exactly what they need.
For others, counselling can also provide an opportunity to address underlying issues and the patterns that may have developed around them. This is often where more sustained change can begin.
